We are proud to announce that we now carry the Hungarian line of Sissi Jewelry at the Whistling Oyster.

Named after Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie (Sissi), the Empress of Austria. The pieces in the Sissi collection were chosen to lend their wearer timeless beauty and reflect the values of a world long gone, but, not at all forgotten.

Sissi was born in Munich, Bavaria as a Duchess Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie, was Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia as spouse of Francis Joseph and From an early age, she was called Sissi by family and friends.

She was a free spirit, who became known for her beauty, and fashion sense. She paid extreme attention to her appearance and would spend most of her time preserving her beauty.




On September 10, 1898, at 60 years old, Sissi was stabbed boarding a steamship for Montreux. She died bleeding from a puncture wound to the heart. Through the years many movies, plays, books, and music have been inspired by her beauty, sense of fashion and passion for life.
